Day 64-66 - Beta Users from France & 30 day free trial for teams

France discovered UserBit

Last week someone from France discovered UserBit and liked it enough to post it on their linked in. Word spread from there and over the last few days UserBit got some 200 visits from France with a 20% conversion rate. Exciting!

User Feedback

I have started receiving some good feedback and feature request from Users. I am excited to hear more.

30 day free trial for team

This one was a toughy, implementing payment gateways although a lot easier now thanks to companies like Stripe, is still no walk in the park. I spent most of the last 3 days working on implementing a robust team and payment structure (had to re-write some of it). When creating a subscription plan with a trial, you have to think about:

Payment considerations

  • how do you start the trial without credit card
  • how do you inform the users when the trial period is about to be over
  • What happens if the users add a payment source in the middle of the trial
  • What happens when the trial expires and user hasn’t added a card?

… etc

Team structure considerations

  • Ability to invite teammates
  • Ability to accept invites
  • Ability to share projects and control permissions
  • What happens if I am part of a team, and someone else also sends me an invitation?
  • What happens when the team owner fails to make a payment?

… etc.

Needless to say, this was quite a lot of thinking through and implementing. I think I have a pretty robust system now though. Aim on pushing it out tomorrow.
